We have a manager and a deputy. They are supported by a team of volunteers who help with all sorts of jobs: serving meals or helping with entertainments, for example.
Above all, our volunteers have time to talk and to listen to our members.
Transport to and from the centre is provided free by our volunteer drivers, using their own cars. There is no charge to members for transport. There is an attendance charge, at present £8, which covers everything else we provide, including lunch.
We are always likely to need volunteers: drivers and helpers. .
The Day Centre is rich with human contact. It is full of fun and of life. We opened in 1986 in the then recently built extension to the Community Hospital. Age Concern and Oxfordshire County Social Services originally sponsored us.
The council still provides funds for two paid staff. All activities and services enjoyed by our members are paid for through fund raising in and around Thame.
We are a registered charity, number 1039978. And we are here for for the people of Thame and District ! |
